Jake & Mandy

We live and breathe the practice of yoga in everything we do. We aren’t just instructors; we embody the principles of yoga both on and off the mat. Each of us has a deep, personal commitment to growth, mindfulness, and wellness, practicing daily to deepen our own understanding and skills. This dedication translates into a genuine, passionate teaching style that inspires and uplifts students. By constantly learning, adapting, and challenging ourselves, we bring authenticity and integrity to every class, guiding students with compassion and insight rooted in our own journey. For us, yoga is more than a job—it’s a way of life.

Our Approach: Alignment Meets Flow

The approach we take could be described as “Iyengar-inspired” Ashtanga yoga, we blend the dynamic flow of Ashtanga’s vinyasa sequences with the alignment-focused principles of Iyengar yoga. This approach emphasises precise alignment in each posture to build stability and reduce the risk of injury, while maintaining the rhythmic breath and movement of traditional Ashtanga. Props such as blocks, straps, and bolsters are often used to support students in achieving anatomically beneficial alignment and form, allowing them to progress safely and effectively. Instruction includes detailed cues and adjustments to deepen awareness of body mechanics and encourage mindfulness in practice. This hybrid method honours the discipline of Ashtanga while incorporating Iyengar’s meticulous focus, creating a balanced, accessible practice for students of all levels.
